Gen 10-20
BIBLE EXPOSITION- GENESIS
Written by Joseph Samuel Ojeele
Gen 11. Illustrates;-
(i) what unity without reverence to God can amount to (verse 6). There is power in oneness (unity) but oneness outside God’s will is equal to confusion. Everything we agree together within ourselves must be in line with God’s will to carry power that makes impossible possible.
(ii) The relevance of record keeping. Moments in life are worth noting done for the future generation to learn from especially family genealogy. "Until the lion learns how to write, every story will glorify the hunter_ African proverb. Imagine a world full of secular books without the Bible, glory would go to who?
Gen 12: illustrates;
(i) The call of God upon a man. God does not call us because we are perfect, No! He calls us and perfects us. Abram didn’t abandon God irrespective of his weakness. No call of God is without challenges. Challenges reveal our strength and areas of weakness where we need to trust God to help us overcome.
(ii) We must have personal ACTIVE PRAYER ALTARS at home, office and market place if we are to keep followship and fellowship with God.
Gen 13: illustrates;-
(i) The difference between pursuit of purpose and pursuit of possession. Abram was pursuing his God given purpose while Lot was pursuing possession. People who pursue possession reach quickly and end life early while those who pursue vision, even when they die their legacy remains long after they are gone.
Life lessons; -
a. Pursue your vision with someone only if God says they are part of the vision. However, when conflicts arise, choose peace over violence.
b. Greed blocks our eyes to see far and blocks the door of abundance.

Gen 14: illustrates maturity in pursuing God;-
(i) The mature in Christ celebrate in helping the weak rather than rejoicing and exposing their weaknesses. Abram helped Lot irrespective of how he treated him in the past.
(ii) The mature in Christ know the true source of their blessing is God not man (verse 23). So, they honor their blesser with a tenth of everything they have achieved.
Geen15: Paints;
(i) The picture of prophecy upon a man and the preparation required for fulfillment. God alone knows the best time when the promise upon a man will bring much glory to Him. Therefore, we need to allow the process designed by Him to finish its perfect work as our miracles matures in the hand of God.
(ii) Battles of obedience. The devil wants us in continuous rebellion so he will violently resist the obedient. We must not fight and sleep off lest we suffer delay. We must remain watchful until God has accepted our obedience to receive our fulfillment in time.
May God's Word strengthen and encourage you.
